My bot!

Well recently I have been working hard on my IRC bot 'HawtBot' which is on SwiftIRC (irc.swiftirc.net). That is why I haven't written anything for like a month or so. More on my bot, I had a report on it written and here it is.

HawtBot started off as a auto voice script, which then turned into a welcome message with auto voicing and was only using in #hawt. Within 5 days of HawtBot being online, a pest control world script was added, at this time Tom Southgate did not know much atall about mIRC script. The addition of a pest control world script took place as part of a few requests from the #hawt regulars. After this HawtBot's biggest and most "changing" script was added, that was ofcourse the stats script. Tom learned much after the addition of this and decided to get it "around" and was used in around 5 channels which were owned by friends. Since then much has changed, infact a blacklist script was even wrote by Tom to stop certain channels from accessing HawtBot and Tom also has to moderate the amount of channels HawtBot is in, HawtBot is only used in proper channels not bot advertisement channels. HawtBot is very complex now and is regarded as a "proper" bot. It now has many almost unique features such as clan, stats, price, pest control world, define, google and much much more. Tom is very enthusiastic about HawtBot and continues to add new scripts almost daily. Aswell as the awesome success of HawtBot, its original channel and home channel #hawt has boomed to and op in that channel is regarded as something that you really have to work for, afterall the shortest known op has known Tom for around 4months, the longest being 4 years!

HawtBot's popularity has grown considerably within the last week or so, it is even on SwiftIRC's wikipedia page now, the most shocking thing of all is that HawtBot isn't even a month old yet. The exact age of HawtBot is unknown but it was made sometime in November 2006. Alot of people regard Tom as the person on the HawtBot team, this isn't true, because originally the auto voice and welcome message scripts were written by Sean who is a good friend of Tom but that is not it. The regulars in #hawt provide a really good beta testing force. Putting scripts through its paces before Tom passes it and saves it. This team usually consists of Jack Green (Ips), Zlatan, Linura, Sith and Zantier. Although Sith and Zantier are always found in #hawt they are the main supporters of HawtBot and have never taken it off their channel #sithchat and always have suggestions.

HawtBot is hosted on Tom's computer and thus the tight invite regulations, HawtBot has to comply with Tom's lifestyle but Tom does his best. Tom would like to give a big thank you to all that helped him with HawtBot and your input will not be forgotten. Quote from Tom "I really do hope HawtBot suceeds more and improves as my scripting abilities improve".
