It is Friday night and I am cuddled-up in a sleeping bag on the family room couch, at my dad's house. As I said before-my computer is broken. So, who knows when this will reach jemdiary—if ever. I am writing on binder paper right now. Today at school was such a boring day. All I did was everything but Math. Which I'll do for homework on Sunday. I also have to study for a History test, I have on Tuesday. Grrr. I am definitely not ready for this one. But, when am I ever ready for any one? LOL. Well, school was boring. On Thursday (yesterday) was Justin's last day at SAA. He 's left to do home school—like I did. He said he was crying, since he would miss everyone—like me. After school he stopped by and I asked how home schooling (Evil! Evil!) was going and he said, "Well, its just the first day, so I didn't get any work yet. So, I guess its cool." (Ya… so far. And I really mean SO FAR.) Even if Justin is (or was) in my sister's class, he has been at SAA since Kindergarten and it's always the saddest to loose one of our long-termers. It was weird to not see him walking in the halls, today. It was weird to not have anyone come up and squeeze random people's sides. He was the one, when everything was boring or just plain old ordinary, he made it interesting. Okay, so after school I just sat on the wall and watched everyone in their own little groups. Which, I'm not really apart of any. But, oh well. I don't really complain. I watched as Erik's older brother came out of their van, to come get Erik. I watched as they would hit each other back and fourth… and acting like brothers. Erik's brother is 16 and he often comes after school to pick up Erik, and they usually take time just to play around, out front. I've always wondered why they do this. Maybe it's just a guy's thing—or a brother thing. I mean—but don't they have to go? What are they trying to show people? That Erik has an older brother? (Oh wow. Big deal.) Or that they know how to hit each other? Or that Erik's brother can act just as immature as Erik? Well, I shouldn't say that about him. All I know is that he's tall, he has an earring (I think), he kinda has a weird, blonde haircut to his ears, he usually always has headphones around his neck, I've never seen him smile, I've only seen him at church once, and that I heard him tell Erik, today, that he's on probation. So, I guess that kind of tells me what kinda person he's like. But, I've been raised to not judge a book by its cover. So, who knows, right. Well, how did I even get to this subject? Whatever. After school I was feeling alone, lets say. Until my dad came to pick us up. Then, I walked past Erik's car and his mom was in the driver's seat and his older brother was in the passenger seat. His mom smiled at me and I smiled and waved back. And Erik's brother (forgot his name) just seemed to stare/glare at me…whatever.
Amanda came over and we did chores, then we went up to the attic. Julia and Amanda wanted to make a fort, so we got started. We stayed up there working for EIGHT hours!! No jokes. We were so motivated. The only breaks we took were 1-to leave a weird message on Erik's message machine and 2-to snack down on chips for 5 min. That's it. We finally got done before Sabbath and now our attic is junk-free (or at least what you can see.) And it looks so big and spacious now. It turned into a real cool hang-out place. We put carpet and tile in!! No kidding. We even made a shelf, where we now keep 3 wine glasses (but not to drink wine of out) just for Julia, Amanda, and I. And Amanda comes over enough to enjoy it with us. We are saving up for beanbags and a small TV and DVD player. We already have surround sound speakers!! It is so awesome. It is all-done today, besides our touch-ups. We were so excited about it! And we are in love with the tile we put it! Then, Amanda unfortunately had to leave right after we finished with it.
Julia and I just sat up there and enjoyed it ourselves and went on the trampoline. We talked about guys in her class and my class. And how tomorrow night we wanted to invite some guys over just so we could show-off our attic and play "seven minuets in heaven." (Ya right… in our dreams.) And besides tomorrow night I'm going over to Alex's house for a movie night thing. 8th graders only! Anyways… I went inside and the phone rang twice. The first time the message machine got it, and the person didn't leave a message. The second time, my sister picked it up, but they must've hung up…'cuz no one was there. Then about two minuets later, my dad and sister were outside and the phone rang again. I picked it up, and it was Erik. No jokes. This was kinda funny 'cuz usually I always used to think, when the phone rang, "please be Erik… please be Erik…" and it never was. This time, I didn't think that, and it was him. So, go figure. Our conversation:
Me: Hello?
Him: Hey Amy! (At least he recognized my voice.) Do you know Derek's number? (Why would he be calling me for DEREK'S number, out of all the people he could've called and out of all the people who actually call Derek?)
Me: No. But, my sister might.
Him: Okay.
Me: Okay, hold on. (I go outside and ask my sister. I get the number, then get back on the phone to give it to him.)
Me: Do you have paper and pen?
Him: Yeah.
Me: Okay it's… (and whatever it was.)
Him: Okay. So watcha guys been up to?
Me: Well, Amanda was over and we were working on his fort in the attic for eight hours. It's so cool.
Him: Oh, cool.
Me: Ya, so what've you been doing?
Him: Just watching my baby sister. I had to watch her today.
Me: Oh.
Him: Ya.
Me: Hey? Are we friends?
Him: Yeah, unless you like me more than a friend. (I was a 'lil confused by this. I'll explain my confusion later.)
Me: No, its cool.
Him: Okay, cool.
(Then I remembered when earlier Amanda told me that she thinks Erik likes Julia. So, I decided to ask him.)
Me: Hey? Someone told me that they think you like my sister, do you?
Him: As a friend, I do. Who?
Me: Okay. And I don't think they'll want me to tell you. (Julia is in the room and she tells me to tell him that it wasn't her who thought that.)
Me: Oh, and Julia says that it wasn't her who thought you liked her.
Him: Okay.
Me: Okay, well I guess I'll cya at church tomorrow.
Him: Ya. Cya.
Me: Bye.
Him: Bye.
