Diary I've removed the news sections from the homepage. I've added it to the user announcements. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention good enough to the data base ids and forgot to back it up too - so there was a bit of mixing up...
Secondly, I wrote a routine that I've added to cron to generate the homepage every hour. This should make the site load alot faster - especially with alot of the content cache stuff.
