girlLearning new things

Here I am at college, so you would think that I would actually be learning new facts that would pertain to my classes. Well I can honestly say that I'm not really doing that. Mostly I'm learning new crafts that I can use to make stuff. For example: I just learned this weekend how to make hemp bracelets. Since I've been here, I've learned three new things that I've actually become quite addicted to. The first and dearest to my heart is decoupaging (although I'm not sure how to spell it). I'm seriously addicted to this, I do it at least once a day and when I see something I think, that will be an excellent idea for decoupaging. I'm starting to believe that it's a sickness. The second is knitting. It's very relaxing to knit, but it made me realize how much I like to crochet better. The reason being that crocheting is MUCH faster and it doesn't hurt the wrists as much. I'm not sure which final product I like better, but I guess there is really no comparison between a scarf and an afghan. And of course, as I mentioned before, third is learning how to make hemp bracelets. I'm just hoping that this won't influence me as much as the others. I really do need to get work done here, but all I ever think about is either knitting or decoupaging. Something else that just popped in my head is that I REALLY want to learn how to sew. I'm not talking with a needle and thread, cause I'm actually already pretty good at that. I'm talking with a sewing machine. You would think it would be easier with a sewing machine, but seeing as I have no idea how to even start it, I don't think it would be easier for me. I almost feel like I'm turning into a girly girl. I would almost consider that frustrating, but then I realize that it's occupy my mind and keeping me busy, so it can't be that bad. At least it's still productive. I could be just sitting around watching movies and eating food. One thing we realized last night is that if we are knitting, both of our hands are occupied so we can't eat unless we tried extremely hard, and we also acknowledged that most of the time we are too lazy to give that extra effort just so we could eat. Something to ponder.
