Impromptu 1

I had my first impromptu speech today for speech class and I would have to say that it didn't go very well but it definitely could have gone worse. We get 5 minutes to prepare a speech that is suppose to be 1-2 minutes long. I ended up with the topic: why students should spend a summer in Europe? Well my speech was 41 seconds long. I spoke really fast mostly because I was nervous and I don't even know why I was. I really dislike giving speeches. Luckily the impromptus are just for practice but it makes me a little concerned for how I will do on my actual speech in about 2 weeks.

well if you need any practice or help (although its not hte same unless you're in person), please let me know :) i LOVE speech, and I always had at least 98% in those classes (even in college!). that was my highest grades ever...
If you dont mind me digressing... we had to do a big speech for english in school.. we had to read three books and compare/contrast them. I picked three tom clancy books... by the time I got done with those long things, it waas my day to do the speech... so i went up to the front with my note card that had five words on it: plot, theme, style, characters, and somethign else... and I got a 100% :) heheh... i am one lucky boy :)
