I was thinking about my friendships again last night and I realized that I am a really terrible friend. That's probably the reason why most of my friendships don't last over 5 months. It's hard work being someones friends. Human instict is to just think about yourself but when you have a friend you have to think about their needs as well if you want to keep them as a friend. To me 5 months is a really long time and if I remain friends with someone over 5 months they must be someone special to me.

Just thinking about it I've had many best friends that have only lasted 5 months. 4th grade - Missy, 5th grade - Courtney, 6th grade - Mallory, 7th and 8th grade were kind of rough years for me so I didn't really have any close friends (none that I would consider my best friend anyways), 9th grade - Dawn and then Shana and then Ben (wow that was a record year), 10th grade I hit a depressing year and didn't consider anyone around me to be my friend, 11th grade - Michelle, 12th grade - Michelle then Jen, Now - Jen and Aaron.

That's a lot of friends to go through and I was really like best friends with all of these people and then I just ditched them. My two closer friends now I haven't been friends with that long and I often wonder if the same thing is going to happen with them. It wouldn't be their fault, because as you can see I don't really stick with any friendship. Jen has probably been the longest friend, but we haven't been close friends for that long, and Aaron and I have just started being close friends. So anything is possible. I'm not saying its going to happen, but it could. And that makes me sad and even more upset when people say I'm forcing people to do stuff cause to me that's not being a good friend which is something I obviously already know.
