Out with the old

Friday was my last day. Been there for over 5 years, and will miss most of the people I worked with a great deal. I sincerely hope I'll continue staying in touch with them.
A lot of mixed emotions this weekend. I met the sort of "sister IS team" of my new employer yesterday. Helped them with a Saturday project. It was good - everyone seemed cool. I'll be working with them off and on from afar now.
In my decision, the business aspect won out over the social aspect of my old job. It left some to be lacking for me, but the people and social part was the best. I hope I like my new job enough where I don't regret my decision. I tend to have some doubt, sadness, excitement, etc. as I think about leaving my old job and beginning the new. Changing jobs because of a new and better opportunity is unique, because you don't necessarily dislike your old job, but you want to continue bettering yourself by moving on.
The feelings I guess sort of remind me of graduating. I was leaving a lot of friends and daily interaction that I thought was a lot of fun, but had to move on. And it worked out well then, so I have to have faith and confidence that it will now, as well.
Anywho, tomorrow is my first day. I hope all goes well. :)

good luck man. I'm excited for you. I look forward to hearing more of your new job on JD if you don't mind :)
Honestly tho, work won't be the same without you. I think of me just coming in... after being a cook :) barely knowing how to make a connectoid in w95... and telling you that you must not like rock and roll :-D... Its just gonna be quiet around there... so thats the part that sucks...
btw, feel free to slack off and throw work our way so we still stay strong too :-P heheheh
