April Fools Day

A blizzard!! And not one that should have been taken lightly...I see that now.

Yesterday at 6am I woke up and decided I was going to work. I should have went back to bed, but I was being optimistic and thought I could make it into work. So the adventure begins.

6:30am- assess snow damage- estimated 1 1/2 feet of snow. Meh, of course my plastic wind up car will have no problem blazing thru thick wet snow that is higher than my Saturn's back bumper.

6:32am- get stuck. Still optimistic here, grabbed a shovel and went at her!

6:45am- starting to slow down, called into work and said I would be late but was still planning on going.

6:50am- bad idea for calling in, car wont move another inch! I decide to push it, because I'm super buff you know....yeah right.

7:00am- Man I'm tired. Decide to take a break and watch the snow fall for a while. Cried a little bit with my head on the steering wheel...a little bit of resignition going on, but not enough to quit.

7:05-7:20 Shovel and push like mad. Decide that I should back out of parking lot instead of drive out. Genius. Wrong.

7:30am call into work and say that I probably wont be in any time soon. I was told to keep trying and to get in as soon as possible.

7:35am-decide to park my car and go back to sleep.

7:36am- lock both sets of keys and cell phone in car.

7:38am- knock on strang neighbor's door and cry for half an hour. poor me.

8:00am- weird neighbor guy goes to unlock door.

8:02am- he claims he doesnt have a chance of unlocking door.

8:05am- he has a back spasm

8:07am- he gives up

8:10am- he tells me that they don't own a phone and then we go thru my options.

8:20am- knock on NA guys door. No answer. No answer. New game plan!

8:23am- knock on some girl's door i've never met. I meet the reborn hippy girl who is my age.

8:25am- call FTPD no answer

8:30am- guy decides that he can get his car unstuck. I try to warm up.

8:40am- call MPD they tell me to go F myself (eg, call a tow truck)

8:50am- call FTPD again and get a different number to call. Call there....they tell me to F off as well.

8:51-8:55am- Looked thru a phone book for a tow number

ummm, some time was lost in here

9:25am call Mikes Auto Center

9:30am some guy shows up and unlocks my car, for the small fee of $20 but walks off without collecting it

10:30am warm enough to go back to sleep

12:45pm wake up to move car with the help of a bunch of random ppl i've never met before.

2:00pm go back to sleep until my boyfriend class at 5

5:15 try to pay my rent and my service charge but no one is around to collect. oh well

 oh well, i'm over it. can't win every time
