single serving world

I hate paying for convenience.

I pack my lunch every day...and i find it easiest to pack a single serving of something. like a juice box for example...or a box of raisins. you know, nothing abnormal in any way...typical lunch food (ok, for a 5th grader, but whatever)

but why does single serving food have to cost more than all other kinds of food? why do the single people of the world have to be punished? how come i can buy a great big box of raisins for half the price? or a big thing of juice with just as many servings for less....

does cardboard and plastic cost that much?

should i just buy a lot of plastic containers to put everything in? should i purchase a thermos for my juice?

i get so frustrated, because I hate spending money on food. Seriously, $20 every two weeks hurts...and i spend most of that money on my lunches! it's really quite sad once i start to think about it. i need to figure out a way to buy normal food and then package it so i can eat it for lunch.

but then that involves more work. and i'm more likely to forget it! grrrr.

the annoyances of being single. and poor.
