How does the search for user function work?

When you know a username or part of a username, fill it into the search box. If you exactly match the username, you will automatically goto the diary for that user. If you're close, you will see a list of users that you might be looking for. Some users opt out of this search so their results will not show up in this search. This search is not directly related to the Google search on the top of the page.

How does the read random user function work?

When you click this link, we'll randomly choose a user for you to read from. Users may opt out of this feature - so they will not be included in the results.

I am getting a prompt to enter a password for this diary - why?

You can either receive this if you're viewing a diary entry that is password protected by the author or if their entire diary is password protected. If you know the diary password, enter it to continue. If you do not, you may want to contact them via any method they have available on their profile page.

How do I view an entry from the index page of a diary?

Its easy - the index page is showcasing brief snippets of the entries. Simply click one of the entries to view the entire contents.

I am on the index page of an entry and the diary preview doesn't match the content of the diary...

For visitors safety and size constraints, we employ an algorithm no the content of the previews to remove larger objects and links. The content still exists, but you must view the entire entry to see it.

A diary entry has a lock and a message saying its password protected - why?

If an entry is password protected, a lock icon may appear in the preview. It will also appear when the item is viewed to remind the user it is locked. If you have a password protected entry that is in the preview window, and you have not entered the diary password, it will notify you that its password protected and will not show the preview content.

How do I view an author's profile?

To view an author's profile at any time, click the link to the top right of their diary. This icon indicates if they're online as well as provides fast access to their profile.

How do I create a comment to an entry?

Assuming that the author has allowed comments on their diary, you can click the link 'add a comment to this entry'. Certain authors elect not to receive comments or restrict them to authenticated users only.

How do I respond to a comment?

Near the body of the comment, there is a link that is labeled 'Reply to this comment'. Click this to register your comment as a reply to that comment.

Why is the title and body required on a comment?

In order to make the comment worthwile, we require a title and body. (just like entries!)

How do I delete an entry?

If you own an entry, you should have a manage entry section on the top of your entries. You must click the Delete Entry link. After this, you will need to confirm the deletion.

How do I delete a comment?

Every comment on an entry that you own has the link to delete the entry. Just click this button and confirm.

Can I get anything I deleted back if I did it by accident?
